July 2010 - Issue 2

Hi

Where do Chinese Gooseberries come from? What animals are the Canary Islands named after? Are verbal contracts binding in Germany? Should negotiations in China be done one-to-one or in groups?**

If you came to the recent meeting of the Tuesday Business Club, you'll have the answers to these questions. The full meeting was treated to a presentation by Claire Snowdon from Expat Know How, all about cultural differences and what we need to be aware of, when working with people from abroad, or just going on holiday. Visit Claire's website by clicking here for more travel tips.

There's no Tuesday Business Club meeting in August and we'll be meeting again on 14 September. Read on to find out when, where and who.

Best wishes,

The Tuesday Business Club Team

Back to School after the Summer Break

How do you survive 10 years in business?

On 14 September, Chantal Cornelius from Appletree will be sharing with us some tips on how to grow a successful business and how to keep it going for at least 10 years.

Appletree celebrates it's 10th birthday this year and to mark the occasion, Chantal is writing a book for the owners of businesses, to help them avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that can cause a business to fail. At our meeting, she'll share with us some of what she's learnt over the last 10 years, giving practical advice that you can use in your business.
